Once you buy a property, you become its absolute owner. With the enjoyment of ownership there also comes certain liabilities and the responsibilities towards the property. These are some of the important things you should always remember:


  1. Obtain a Khata in your name from the concerned Authority in respect of your property;

  2. Pay the Property Taxes every year;

  3. Keep all the originals of title in safe custody;

  4. Every year obtain an Encumbrance Certificate;

  5. Fence, if the Property is a vacant land and also put a name plate;

  6. Get electricity meter change and other connections in your name.
